Polycarbonate Sheet Breather Tape

This breather tape is designed for the lower edge of multiwall polycarbonate sheets. Its breathable woven fabric membrane allows air to circulate through the hollow flutes, letting condensation escape while blocking dust, insects, and debris from entering. Unlike standard sealing tapes that trap moisture inside the panel, this tape prevents algae growth, staining, and reduced light transmission. It adheres firmly to polycarbonate surfaces, resists UV and weather exposure, and can be torn by hand for quick installation. For complete protection, pair it with aluminum foil tape on the upper edge. Ideal for greenhouses, conservatories, carports, canopies, and any multiwall PC sheet installation.

This breather tape is specifically engineered for sealing the lower ends of multiwall polycarbonate sheets. Its breathable fabric membrane allows air to circulate freely inside the flutes, letting moisture vapor escape while blocking dust, insects, and debris from entering.

Why you need it：
Multiwall polycarbonate sheets have hollow chambers (flutes) that are vulnerable to dust, insect nesting, and condensation buildup. Without proper sealing, trapped moisture can lead to algae growth and reduced light transmission over time. The breather tape solves this by acting as a one-way ventilation barrier at the bottom edge of the panel.

How to Use：

  1. Clean the panel edge and ensure the flutes are free of dust.

  2. Peel back protective film approximately 50mm from the panel edge.

  3. Apply the breather tape to the lower end of the polycarbonate sheet (the edge facing downward toward the gutter).

  4. Press firmly along the full width of the panel.

  5. For the upper end, use aluminum foil tape (non-breathing) to create a complete seal.

Important Installation Note：
Always install polycarbonate sheets with the flutes running downward. The lower edge gets breather tape (ventilation), and the upper edge gets aluminum foil tape (full seal). This combination prevents water ingress while allowing internal moisture to escape.
