Elastic Waterproof Cable Repair Tape

This radiation-crosslinked composite tape is designed for restoring cable sheathing, sealing wire connectors, and protecting joint assemblies in demanding electrical environments. Its two-ply construction pairs a stretchable insulating outer layer with an inner mastic sealing layer. The crosslinked backing resists long-term fissuring, while the high-elongation outer film allows the tape to conform to uneven connector shapes and create a compression seal.

The tape bonds reliably to metallic conductors and polymer cable sheaths, and it withstands water ingress, UV exposure, seawater, acids, and alkalis across a working range of -40°C to 100°C. Printed stretch indicators on the backing help control elongation and overlap during installation. Available in 1.8mm × 50mm × 3m rolls, black, 50 rolls per carton. Suitable for heat-shrink and cold-shrink joint accessories, overhead insulated conductors, ground wires, mining cable jacket repair, and 380V–220kV power, communication, and signal control cables.

Cable jackets take punishment—abrasion, moisture, UV, chemicals, and temperature swings. When the outer sheath is compromised, moisture finds its way to the conductor. This radiation-crosslinked composite tape is engineered to restore that barrier quickly, wrapping tightly around irregular joints and sealing out water with a two-ply elastic-and-mastic construction.

Why This Tape Works Where Ordinary Tape Doesn’t

  • Two-Ply Sealing Architecture – A stretchable insulating outer layer is bonded to an inner mastic sealing layer. The outer layer provides electrical insulation and mechanical toughness; the inner layer fills gaps and blocks moisture.

  • Crosslinked Backing Resists Cracking – Radiation-crosslinked and fully vulcanized. The backing resists long-term fissuring and aging, maintaining protective performance through extended service.

  • High Elongation for Irregular Shapes – The tape stretches to conform to non-uniform connector geometries and creates a compression seal. Printed stretch indicators help control elongation and 1/2 overlap during application.

  • Reliable Bonding to Cable Materials – Bonds to metallic conductors and polymer cable sheaths. The tape stays in place during wrapping and holds firm after application.

  • Weather, Water, and Chemical Resistance – Withstands UV exposure, seawater, acids, and alkalis. Working temperature range: -40°C to 100°C.

  • Mining Cable Jacket Restoration – The abrasion-resistant backing is suitable for mining cable outer jacket repair, where mechanical durability and moisture sealing are critical.

Typical Uses

  • Heat-shrink and cold-shrink joint assemblies

  • Overhead insulated conductor sealing

  • Ground wire moisture protection

  • Mining cable jacket repair

  • 380V–220kV power, communication, and signal control cables

  • Coastal, industrial, and underground installations

Specifications

Application Steps

  1. Clean the cable surface. Remove dust, oil, and contamination.

  2. Stretch the tape until the elliptical indicator on the backing becomes circular.

  3. Anchor one end to the cable.

  4. Wrap with 1/2 overlap, keeping the indicator circular throughout.

  5. Peel the release paper as you wrap.

  6. Press the tape end firmly onto the cable jacket.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep rolls free from dust and oil. Use within the recommended shelf life for best adhesion and sealing performance.
